Product Description
The Volant Rod Series is a worthy successor to our ever-popular XA series of rods. It channels the medium-fast action of the XA with some improvements to create an even more refined multi-purpose series. From small creeks to offshore saltwater, the Volant series will get the job done, and do it extremely well. The series is built around versatility and durability without sacrificing finesse and presentation. The goal for the series is presentation, power, and accuracy in perfect balance, so not only can you put the fly on target, but you can effectively fight the hooked fish too. Each model was designed to suit its ideal fisheries: the 4-weight is dialed in on small stream and stillwater, while the 12-weight is built with the power to handle whatever the saltwater flats and blue water brings up for you.

Volant 4 wt
Great rod and even better service! Thanks!

Volant 5 weight
Great rod with the back bone to deliver long casts and the soft tip to deliver the fly. Love it.

Good action
Took these rods on a recent river fishing expedition. The 5wt did well in light wind and I could still f eel the smaller trout I caught (10-12 inches). I got good line delivery and accurate casts. I also bought an 8wt that can shoot a lot of line - even in the wind. It was less fun to catch those smaller trout, though… can’t wait to fish for largemouth bass with it.

Outstanding Performance On The San Juan River
I just returned from an intensive fishing experience on the San Juan River in New Mexico, where I fished my Volant 4 wt with a Kraken reel for four straight days. My experience with the Volant was phenomenal! Our guides had us throwing dry flies and two-fly nymph rigs, depending on the situation, all four days and the Volant allowed me to cast them all with ease. I made 30 to 40 foot casts with a size 16 dry fly in both fast and slow water, quick mends to keep the flies drifting well and quick sets to catch fish. The Volant was easy to cast, including roll casts, and it’s medium fast action provided firm hook sets every time. None of the three guides I fished with had ever heard of Allen but they all tested the Volant and liked it’s feel. I hooked a couple of rather large fish and the Volant and the Kraken reel allowed me to successfully handle them to the net. For the price, this is a superb rod worthy of any River in the country.

Rod review
Felt like a great rod. Broke on the second cast. Very unimpressed

Volant 5wt
Honestly, I love this rod. It has been a workhorse for me. I’ve caught everything from small panfish up to 20+inch pike no on it. It has a nice smooth action, and is a real pleasure to cast. Color is great, and the wood on the reel seat is very nice

Volant 5W Rod
I have used the rod on still water and the Green River. Loved the performance and by far the best rod I have. However the tip of second section broke last weekend while floating the Green River. How do we proceed with getting this fixed? Thanks

Volant 5W Rod
I have used the rod in still water and on section A of the Green River. I loved it. However while fishing the Green River this last weekend the tip of the middle section broke, while casting. How do we go about getting that section of the rod replaced? By far my favorite rod I have.

Absolutely wonderful
This rod is definitely among the best rods I have ever cast or fish. I purchased the 8 wt model looking for nice rod that wouldn't break the bank. It is one of the smoothest casting fly rods I've ever handled. It also has a deceptively light swing weight which makes it a wonderful streamer and saltwater flats rod, and it is a very accurate rod. I was also surprised by the amount of line I could shoot with this rod with minimal false casts. Most importantly and best of all, it's just a great fishing tool. It's nice and sensitive and has plenty of power to turn bigger fish. I am very happy with this rod and would gladly recommend it to anyone.
